TERRIFIC MOVE

Posted by maryrhermanson1944 on 3/19/2009

Terrific job and a very professional move of my household furniture. The two man crew was absolutely wonderful and took great care of my goods. Highly recommend this moving company.

BIGGEST MISTAKE I EVER MADE, USING THIS COMPANY

Posted by geemom77 on 6/25/2008

I needed to have my things packed, moved and stored for two months, then moved to another apartment. Owner gave a verbal quote which I accepted, (would not give written estimate), then charged three times more and wouldn't let me have things until I paid everything! AND the prices in the brochure are only for moving yourself, they do not apply when the company moves you--they charge much more! Packing was inconsistent. Sometimes the contents of drawers were left in dressers, sometimes just dumped into boxes. Found a box of stationary and a plastic bottle of white-out wrapped in paper! Some dishes were wrapped properly, others had stacks of 7-8 plates with no wrapping between. They disassembled all the furniture they could take apart (recliners, dining room table, took casters off furniture). I have never had movers take apart furniture before. The total bill for a two-bedroom apartment and storage locker was $5,800! Then I had to pay another moving company to move my belongings out of her warehouse since I couldn't afford whatever else she would have charged me to deliver the stuff! All this while I was in a nursing home recovering from surgery. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY!!

There are two sides to every story. What I was led to believe, over the telephone, was almost double the volume in doing the estimate on the same day. Family was told, however, they tried every angle they could think of for not paying for the service and through small claims they were held liable.

Another Horrible

Posted by deucers on 5/5/2008

They were all friendly up front when they quoted us only 1/2 the price it would cost us to move. They only followed up on payment requests, not on outstanding damage claims and other questions we had. The last time I spoke with them to try to resolve our outstanding issues they said "We do not want to hear about what you are unhappy about". I guess that says it all.

HORRIBLE

Do not use this company! Bad customer service. They're only in it for the money. You're better off giving friends and family each a six-pack and some pizza to help you.

Our move was a nightmare!

Posted by ritakay on 9/24/2006

Where do I begin? The whole experience was such a mess. I scheduled the move several weeks in advance, gave a list of our belongings to the coordinator, and was given an estimate of 5-6 hours for a 2-man crew. I was told someone would call to confirm a week ahead of time, but did not receive any call. I had to call the office the day before to make sure someone was coming. We were told crew would arrive between 8:00 and 8:30; they arrived at 9:00. We were charged 90 minutes of travel time, even though their office is less than 30 minutes from the site. One of the crew was extremely sick and not functioning at full capacity -- both my husband and I ended up catching whatever virus he had and we were also sick for two weeks! Seven hours after they arrived, they still didn't have the truck loaded, even though my husband and I were both carrying boxes out of the basement and to the curb. We had to tell them to quit loading and go to the new house to unload since we were already well past our estimated price/time period. They were beginning to get very sloppy and careless with our belongings, so we just had them put everything in the garage at our new house because we didn't want them scratching up the walls, doors and floors of our new house like they did at the old house. Several items arrived scratched and/or broken. When the office called to follow-up, I expressed that I wasn't satisfied, and was told, "Okay, thanks for your time, have a nice day!" So I followed up with a letter of complaint to the president, and in response I received a letter filled with inaccuracies, and basically said they did everything right, it was all our fault if we were unhappy. In the letter, the president conceded that the crew arrived 45 minutes late, so she was refunding us for 15 minutes of work time, or $27.50. Where is the logic in THAT? In the end, the move cost us $1,200 to move a 3-bedroom house, and we ended up moving 25%-30% of our belongings ourselves.
